Welcome!

My name is Nina Lehtinen and I live in Viiala with my husband Juha,
three Magyar Agars and one whippet.
I got my prefix Avenina's in 2000 but the first litter wasn't born until 2007.

My first dogs were shepherds. My friend introduced me to the world of sighthounds and I was hooked. I visited a few lure-couring events and I was intrigued by the looks, the temperament and the purpose of use of sighthouds. I started to think about the right breed for me and Magyar Agar had many features that I found very pleasing.

Finally I went to kennel Tuzviragvadasz in Klaukkala to see and meet the breed. I saw a beautiful Magyar Agar bitch at World Winner show 1998. She was Pasztortuzvirag Debora and she had the most lovely temperament. To my fortune and joy Dobora had had litter during the spring and I was offered to have one of the puppies, Tuzviragvadasz Amanda, "Amanda". The little Magyar Agar bitch was 5 months old at the time.

We have been trough a lot with Amanda and she is definitely the dog of my life! She is also the dam of my A-litter. I am most greatful to Leena and Csaba for the opportunity to have Amanda and all the support during these years.

My other Magyar Agar, Kucorgo-Dombi Drava, "Drava", comes from the native country of the breed. Drava has captivated all of us with his horrendously positive temperament and he is keeping us happy, every day. Drava is the sire of my A-litter and has produced the happy temperament to his progeny. Thank you Orsi for this "little" fellow!

Avenina's Amans Aenea, "Maija" is the third dog in my home. It was abvious that one of the puppies from my A-litter would stay at home. There were just that something about Maija
and we have a special bond.

I co-own one Magyar Agar bitch from my first litter, Aveninas Arlie Adastra, "Scarlett".
She is living with my friend Salla. Scarlett loves everyone and like her mother, is a broadly smiling Magyar Agar. Special thank you for Salla for taking care of Scarlett!

For tree years we had the privilege to have the little whippet Nightvision Co-Attraction "Kerttu", with us. For our greates sorrow we had to let her go much too soon. Kerttu was very special little whippet and she will always be in our thoughts.

I also co-own a whippet bitch Silentkaze Dancing Delight "Doris". After Kerttu passed away, I had a hole a size of a whippet in my heart. After finding the right combination, Doris came to cheer our lives. I am anxious to see what the future has to offer us with this little rascal.

I am interested in shows, track- and lure-coursing. If you have any questions or just want to get to know this still very rare breed, don't hesitate to contact me or just come to talk to me at show or any events.

Hope you enjoy your visit!
